Wow! Time flies! We have been in South Alabama for two weeks as of yesterday! I cannot believe it! We are all doing well- adjusting to our new schedules. Sarah has learned to sit up in the past few weeks. She would MUCH rather be on her belly though so that she can scoot around. Jake loves his new school. His teacher is starting her 13th year of teaching and there are 17 of them in his class!! They have already taken a field trip to the Fire Station and to get ice cream. I commute 27 miles each way. That may not seem like a lot to you who drive over an hour to get to work in Birmingham, but remember I am used to living 5 miles from work. I really enjoy the drive though. I get to go over the the Mobile Bay every day on my way to work. There also isn't a lot of traffic here- not like Birmingham. We miss Daddy! We get to see him Thursday evenings through Sunday afternoons. We just keep thinking that this is not permanent. Our house will sell eventually and Chris will find a job down here.
On to the Jakeisms- as you know my son is never a loss for words- here are a few things that he has come up with lately:
- Hey mom look it's Snow White and the Seven Dorks! (pronounced DWORKS)
- "Pup of smoke" as in he disappeared in a "pup of smoke."
- After about the 6th time that I asked him to go to bed last night he spied a dollar bill on the nightstand. I told him he could have it IF he would go to bed and not get up again. Well, a few minutes later I hear little feet. I said okay give me the dollar and he said well mom actually it is two dollars. They were folded together- we was bringing me my change! Can you really take the dollar away after that? Nope!
- "Mom when I grow up I want to be a baker, police man, lemonade maker, and grocery store bag boy"- man will he be busy!!
Oh and BTW- we killed a snake last week- in the garage! Those who know me well know that I almost got in my car and came back to Birmingham! You should hear Jake's rendition of the event- it involves mostly me screaming.
